In December 2024, the DGA – France Directorate General of Armaments and the France Army awarded the “Used by the French Armed Forces” (UFA) label to ARESIA, for its MELODI precision shooting training system. A label that recognizes those who contribute to the superiority of the French armed forces The label (UFA) is awarded to French companies (start-ups, SMEs or ETIs with fewer than 5,000 employees) that supply equipment used by our armed forces. It is part of the PEPS plan (Plan for ETIs, SMEs and start-ups). This label illustrates the desire of the France Ministry of the Armed Forces to strengthen its action for the benefit of its suppliers, who are an essential link in guaranteeing the superiority of the French armed forces. It mainly concerns equipment acquired by the armed forces, as part of defense contracts related to weapons, munitions or war materials and strengthens the links between the armed forces and the defense industrial and technological base. This label meets several objectives:
- Promote the use of products that meet the specific needs of the French armed forces
- Promote access for start-ups, VSEs, SMEs and ETIs to new markets, particularly for export.
With 500 labels awarded to nearly 250 companies since 2019, this initiative reflects the ambition of the France Ministry of the Armed Forces: to support these companies in their development and promote French know-how.
